Allison Claye Pope

Allison Claye Pope, 61 of Orange, Texas and formerly of Teague, Texas, passed away on August 11, 2022 at her residence.  A service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  A private burial will follow afterwards.  

Ms. Pope was born April 29, 1961 in Selma, Alabama to Sonny & Sherrley Piper Baggett.  She had been in the community since 1982 & married Howard Pope, Sr. on July 8, 1986.  She had previously been employed by the Mexia State School.

Allison is survived by her son, Howard Pope Jr. (Rooster) & wife, Heidi of Teague; daughter, Katie Pope of Orange, Texas; grandchildren, Kaliyah Pope of Orange, Texas, Ryan Edmonds & fiancé, Lauren Watson of Teague, and Colton Edmonds & wife, Mariah of Teague; great-grandchildren, Taytum, Marcie and Katerina Edmonds of Teague; sister, Linda Fortune of Kinsey, Alabama; brother, Odis Baggett & wife, Christy of Valley Grande, Alabama; mother-in-law, Thelma Pope of Teague, brother-in-law, Tommy Pope & wife, Lisa of Lake Limestone and special friends Dawn Richardson of Teague & Kasi Erwin of Teague; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
