Alvis Byrd Obituary

Mr. Alvis Leon Byrd, 70, passed away on March 30, 2021 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Byrd was born on May 13, 1950 in Plainview, Texas to Alfred & Leata Hale Byrd. He was employed for 46 years, from 1972-2010, with Xcel energy, which later became Southwestern Public Service.

Alvis was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred & Leata Byrd; sisters, Ruth Barnet and Joyce Wilburn as well as brother, Robert Byrd. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Byrd of Groesbeck; daughters, De Shane Mena and Kim Chasteen; sons, Brad Byrd and William Byrd; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
