Blanche Lott

EJ Blanche Brooks Lott, 82 of Mexia, passed away on August 27, 2023 at the Skilled Care of Mexia. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. 

Blanche was born on May 6, 1941 in Toro Hills, Louisiana to Elzie James and Inez Peace Brooks.  She was the youngest of three children.  Blanche spent her early years in Toro, Louisiana.  Her family moved to Houston, Texas in 1951.  She met and married Nathan “Tony” Briggs in 1958 and they had one child together.  Blanche married her second husband, John Benjamin “Bill” Lott in 1962.  They were together 25 years before his death. 

Blanche loved to sew and made and sold beautiful dolls. She volunteered at a Christian mission in Houston.  She loved to work in her flower beds and had quiet the green thumb. 

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Claude and her husbands.  She is survived by her son, Nathan L. Briggs and wife, Lisa of Mexia; sister, Aleta Trahan & husband, Earl of Riverside, Texas; grandchildren, Lacey Deal & husband, Steven of Mexia, Christopher Lloyd & wife, Valarie of Bellmead, Texas, Christina Amezquita & husband, Isaac of Honolulu, Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Zane, Presley, Autumn and River Deal and Junior Lloyd; along with other nieces, nephews and family. 

The family would like to thank the Skilled Care of Mexia and Reliant at Home Hospice for such great care.
