Brenda Jo Kennedy

Brenda Jo Kennedy, 76 of Groesbeck, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 at Providence Hospital in Waco.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Pastor Brandon Verm officiating.  Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Brenda was born on February 2, 1949 in Mexia, Texas to Sally Pauline Lancaster & W.L. (Bill) Gregory.  She was married to Kenneth Kennedy in Mexia in August of 1967.  She worked for First National Bank in Mexia for 22 years.  She enjoyed crocheting, scrap booking and baking; she made the best rum cake.  Her four granddaughters were the joy of her life. 

Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, Bill and Pauline Gregory; sister, Betty Combs and Freddie Dabney.  Left behind to cherish her memories are her sons, Chris Kennedy & wife, Brandy of Groesbeck, Jody Kennedy & wife, Veronica of Groesbeck; sister, Dorothy Pevehouse & husband, John; brother, Bud Greogry & wife, Charlotte; granddaughters, Ryleigh, Breanna, Katy and Adalynn, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers are Jody Kennedy, Chris Kennedy, Mike Morton, Spike Morton, Dillion Dabney and David Boyte.
