Candice Boyd passed peacefully at her home in Mexia, Texas on the night of October 22, 2025, after a brief, yet valiant battle with an aggressive lung cancer.
C. W. was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother. Candice is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Ashley Boyd; son James Brody Weinmann and wife, Brandi; two grandsons, Tristan and Barrett; granddaughter, Kiersan and sister, Sandra Renner and husband, Kenneth.
Candice served in the United States Air Force as a hydraulic mechanic working on massive military cargo aircrafts, such as the CSA Stratolifter and the C5 Galaxy. C.W. was very talented in many different aspects. She was a medic, a professional seamstress, worked security and also enjoyed cowboying and working cattle. She later chose law enforcement as her life career. Candice graduated from the police academy and became a licensed peace officer in 1998. During her career with the Mexia Police Department, she overcame many obstacles and advanced from Patrol Officer thru the ranks to become a Lieutenant Investigator and retired after 24 years. C.W. was a very dedicated Police Officer and her impact on all who knew her will be eternal. C.W. will be dearly missed.
Candice was a loving mother to Brody and a devoted wife to Ashley. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and close friends. She had many favorite hobbies she enjoyed in her free time. Just to name a few, they included gardening, crocheting, sewing, baking and also taking care of her dogs, cats, chickens and horses.
Candice was an extraordinary woman whose courageous journey in life was admirable.
Family, friends and all who knew her are invited to pay their respects, celebrate her life and say their final goodbyes to a wonderful woman on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Jones Funeral Services. 931 S. Hwy 171, Mexia. Visitation will commence at 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m., Reverend Michael Vestal, officiating. Following the memorial service, Candice will be cremated.
