Carl McKinney, 78 of Wortham passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the Fairfield Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wortham, with Reverend Justin Colquette officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Carl was born on March 25, 1947, in Ellis County, Texas to Willie & Maurine Alexander McKinney. He drove a truck since he was 14 years old and took pride in working on and overhauling his diesels. He was proud to be a volunteer fireman and first responder. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Preceding Carl in death was his wife, Wanda McKinney; the mother of his children, Charlotte McKinney and his parents.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Donna McKinney & husband David Day of Cottage Grove, Oregon; Melissa White & husband, Steve of Kirvin, Texas and LaVana McKinney of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Shelby and Chyenne Trisler, Chase and Rypin Rogers and wife, Amber and great-grandchildren, Laurynn Wedin, Deven Pullin, Justn Hancock and Ethan Lemke; great grandchildren, Ryder Rogers, Westin Rogers and Brantley Pullin
