Mrs. Carol Ann Richardson Lewis, 57 of Waycross, Georgia passed away Wednesday evening, February 3, 2021, at Memorial Health Center in Savannah, Georgia following a sudden illness. A graveside service for Mrs. Lewis will be held Tuesday morning, February 9, 2021, at 11:00 am from the Birdston Cemetery in Streetman, TX. The family will receive friends Monday evening, February 8, 2021, from 6 until 8 o’clock at Jones Funeral Services, 931 South Highway 171, Mexia, TX 76667.
Born in Pasadena, Texas on December 17, 1963, she had lived in Texas all of her life before moving to Waycross in 2012. She was currently the custodial manager for Cal-Maine in Hoboken. Ms. Lewis loved traveling back home to Texas as well as St. Augustine, FL. She was a hard-headed woman who loved NASCAR and Jimmy Johnson though the two are not related! An avid animal lover, she could watch Animal Planet and Dr. Pol all day long. She enjoyed a good margarita and going to the beach with her best friend, Bonita. Mrs. Lewis was dearly loved by her family and friends and was known as Meemaw or Mama Carol by everyone. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was a daughter of the late Lenard Charles & Mary Marie Fails Richardson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Terry Don Lewis; a grandchild, Savannah Haynes; all three of her brothers, Charles Ed Cameron, Doyle Cameron, and Danny Richardson; a brother-in-law, Bobby Wilson; and her pet yorkie, Sugar.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tina & Joe Haynes of Waycross; her sister, Ann Wilson of Teague, TX; a sister-in-law, Dawn Richardson of Teague; three grandchildren, Cassie (Preston) Wells of Diboll, TX and Case Haynes and Jacob Haynes both of Waycross; two great grandchildren, Shelby and Gage; an aunt, Betty Carpenter of Pasadena, TX; her pet dog, Honey; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
