Daniel Bell

Daniel Martin Bell, “Danny”, 59 of Mexia, passed away on August 26, 2023, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Prairie Grove Baptist Church with Daneil Burkeen, officiating.  Interment will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Danny was born on June 4, 1964, in Groesbeck, Texas to Lance & Bobbie Cummings Bell.  In his younger days, he played football and was a good baseball player.  He was in the community his whole life and during his career was in carpentry and construction.  Danny enjoyed fishing, boating and camping.  He is described as funny and a goofball, always wanting to have a good time. Danny had a heart of gold and loved and lived for his grandchildren.  He was very proud of his son Lance.  He idolized his brother, David.  Claudia was his one and only love.

Danny was preceded in death by his dad, Lance Bell, bother, David Joe Bell and grandmother, Lillian Brown. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Claudia Isham of Mexia; mother, Bobbie Bell of Boise, Idaho; sister, Landra Bell of Boise, Idaho; son, Lance Bell & Hailey Heller of Mexia, Texas; grandchildren, Jaydee Grace, Ryker David, Teagan Rose and Mason McCoy; niece, Caitlin Samantha Goff; nephew, Carson Montano Goff, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family. 

Serving as pallbearers are Lance Bell, Dannie Isham Jr., Davey Isham, Homer Isham Jr., Reece Traylor, Aaron Childs, Zay Brown, Terry Adams Jr. and Jace Lloyd.  Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Simpson, Alan Owens, Robin Dabey, Jon Bruce Childs, Scott McCurdy and Dillard White.
