Delunda Rutherford

Delunda Rutherford, 58, passed away on June 4, 2022 at her residence in Teague, Texas.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Thornton, with Brother Paul Moore, officiating.  Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery Near Freestone.  Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services in Mexia.

Delunda Rutherford was born on January 16, 1964 in Waco, Texas.  She was adopted & picked up on Sunday, the 18th.   She lived in Dallas, and the first place her parents took her was to church.  Delunda was raised in the church.  She married at the age of 15 and gave birth to her daughter, La Tasha on December 28, 1981, whom they lost in February of 2000.  Delunda was a CNA for 15 years. She loved working with the older folks and called them her babies. 

She was preceded in death by her father, James Martin, Sister, Deanna Martin & daughter, La Tasha Preston; aunt, Betty Curry; uncles, Henry, Homer, Danny, Jesse & Sammy Isham; grandparents, Henry & Willie Isham.

Among survivors are her husband, Vic Rutherford; mother, Geneva Martin; granddaughter, Crystal Brunson and many, many cousins. 

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Adams, Johnny Isham, Joey Adams, Brent Isham, Davey Isham, Donnie (Bubba) Isham, Homer (Fugi) Isham, Chase Adams and Chance Adams. Honorary pallbearer is Bryant Adams.
