Denmond Wayne Hensley

Funeral services for Denmond Hensley will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.at the Teague Community Center in Teague, Texas, with Reverend Michael Hensley, officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. .at the funeral home.  

Denmond Hensley, 85, of Mexia, Texas, was born January 4, 1941, at home in Datura, Texas, in Limestone County, to Ruffes Wayne Hensley and Evelyn Jewell Gifford Hensley.

Denmond attended school in Forrest Glade through eighth grade and later graduated from Mexia High School in 1959. He worked for Atmos Energy in Cayuga, Texas, and retired in 2006. Denmond also owned Denmond’s, known to many as Denmond’s Waterin' Hole, from approximately 1982 until 2025. Denmond married Melba Cruthis on November 11, 1980. They were married until her passing in 2007.

He is survived by his companion, Carmen Hall of Teague; brother Larry Hensley and wife Sandy of Mexia; daughters Gail Menta and husband Greg of Denison, Carla Fontana of Mexia, Donna Baggs and husband Kenneth of Mexia, Ruthe Rogoski of Mexia, and Suzette Thomas and husband Jeff of Mexia; son Robert Glass of Mexia. Grandson Senior Chief Kenneth (Kenny) Baggs II and wife Savannah of Suffolk Va, Matthew (Matt) Farraschuk and wife Kristal of Cedar Park Tx, Harris Rogoski of Mexia Tx, Dusty Olson and wife Stephanie of Denison Tx, Kenzie Baggs and committed partner Joseph Forrester of Mexia, Wila Rogoski of Crockett Tx, Dawnise Ryan of Denison Tx, and Meghan Wilson of Minot ND and seven great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Hensley; his parents Ruffes and Jewell Hensley; and baby Hensley.
