Elise Haynes

Elise Lorena Haynes, 86, passed away on August 24, 2021 at her home near Mart.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church on the Rock in Groesbeck.

Elise was born on October 22, 1933 in Brownsville, Texas to Cecil William & Gertrude Cecelia Dixon Robinson. 

Mrs. Haynes married William (Bill) R. Haynes on July 25, 1966 in Brownsville, Texas.  She had been in the community for 37 years.  She was a devoted wife and housewife.  Mrs. Haynes was very devoted to her church and loved God & her family. She was a board member of AgLow, a co-director of Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry and participated in nursing home and jail ministries.  Elise was the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce’s Woman of the Year in 2005 and received the Community Builder Award in 2016 by the Masonic Lodge. 

Preceding Mrs. Haynes in death were her son, Michael Adams and grandson, Walter Lee Fallin.  Survivors include her husband, Bill Haynes of Mart; daughters, Beverly Jones of Mart, Debra Adams of McAllen, Texas and Cecelia Reist of Alvin, Texas; son, Walter Adams of McAllen, Texas; step-daughter, Theresa Davidson of San Antonio, Texas; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
