Ernest L. Brown

Ernest L. Brown, 72, of Wortham, passed away on September 10, 2020 at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Wortham Cemetery with Minister Tas Betts Jr., officiating.  Honorary pallbearers are James Brown, Malcolm Brown, Patrick Lovely, Al Brown, Grover Moten and Charles Hill. 

Ernest was born on October 17, 1947 in Earle, Arkansas to the late Erma Lee Walker & J.C. Brown.  Ernest attended school at F. Wheeler High School.  He served in the Army.  After his service, he worked for the city of Dallas and for the Dallas Times Herald Newspaper. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Erma Lee Walker; father, J.C. Brown and brothers, W.T. Roberts, J.L. Brown and James C. Brown.  Ernest leaves to cherish in his memories his sister, Mary J. Kennedy (Charles Kennedy); three nieces, Sylvia Brown, Tammy Brown and Diane Brown; three great nieces; 4 great nephews, special friend, Raquel Hogan, as well as a host of great-grand nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
