Estevan R. Vasquez

Estevan R. Vasquez, 56 of Mexia, passed away on March 28, 2025 at the Skilled Care of Mexia.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Carlos Mora, officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Corsicana.  Family visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Estevan was born on September 19, 1968 in Dallas, Texas to Bishop Joe R. Vasquez and Paula Riuz.  He married Anastacia Gutierrez on September 29, 1997 in Corsicana, Texas.  He was an independent roofer and was a member of the Faith Temple in Corsicana.  When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed music, playing the guitar, cooking, being outdoors, fishing and watching movies.  His favorite times were spent with his wife, children and grandchildren (watching their sports).  His time with his family and grandchildren were his most treasured accomplishments in life.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Bishop Joe Vasquez. Left behind to cherish Estevan’s memory are his wife, Anastacia; son, Steve Vasquez II; daughters, Ana Vasquez, Natalie Vazquez (Alfredo Vasquez), Esmeralda Carrillo (Alberto), Delilah Vasquez; mother, Paula Vasquez; sisters, Elizabeth Rodriguez (Socorro Rodriguez), Esther Spigel (Adam Spigel), brother, Eddie Vasquez (Yolanda Vasquez), and seven grandchildren; three boys, four girls and one on the way.  

Serving as pallbearers are Alfredo Vazquez, Alberto Carrillo, Socorro Rodriguez, Adam Spigel, Jose Govea and Javier Arevalo.
