Gerald Robert “Bobby” Futch, 80 of Mexia, passed away on July 2, 2021 at Providence Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Marcus Sheffield, officiating. Interment will military honors will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Futch was born on February 28, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Lloyd & Zola Thompson Futch. He married Linda Phillips on June 28, 1970 in Mexia and had resided in the community since 1983. He was an ordained minister, was in real estate at one time, and retired from transportation with Baker Hughes. He was a butcher by trade. He loved his family, reading and being with his family, especially time with his grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd & Zola Futch; brothers, Buster, Buddy and Wayne and nephews, Stacy Sparks and Sean Futch. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Futch of Mexia; son, Tim McLain of Sanger, Texas; brother, Billy & Marilyn Futch of Florida, sisters, Karen Greer & husband, Joe of Magnolia, Texas and Carol Ann Chambers & husband, Jack of Houston, Texas; brother & sister-in-law, Ronnie & Betty Winn of Mesquite; granddaughter, Christy Hernandez & husband, Will; great granddaughters, Carolina, Isabella and Annabelle, all of San Antonio; nieces and nephews, Mark & Annette; Shane, Amber, Larry & Jenny; Jimmy, Jeff, Jay; Christy; Michelle, Jessica; Jennifer, Julie and Kim, Charlie, Donna and Richard; as well as thirty six great nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Stanly Black, Louis Garner, Mike Sandifer, Randy Ratliff, Clifton Kirvin and Freddie Lane.
