Hazel Haynes Obituary

Hazel Jean Haynes, 84 of Mexia, passed away on September 3, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Wortham Cemetery with Reginald Haynes, officiating. 

Mrs. Haynes was born on February 1, 1937 in Wortham, Texas to Houston & LV Smith Dunagan.  She retired after 20 years as an LVN at the Mexia State School and afterwards, the Manor Nursing Home.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating and shopping.  Mrs. Haynes was of the Baptist Religion. 

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; sons, James Earl Miller, Michael Wayne Miller, George Ray Miller, Jr.; and daughter, Rebecca JoAnn Brown.

She was married to George Ray Miller, whom four kids were born.  She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Miller.  She was then married for 47 years to Fred Haynes, whom she was a devoted wife to and always there for him, helping him get to were he is today. Out of this union, came four kids. She is survived by three of the children, Kevin Haynes, , Fredia Lynn Brown, Tammy Hopkins and husband, Louis and Reginald Haynes; sister, Barbara Buchanan; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and special niece, Casandra Smith.
