Howard Clifton Jones, 66 of Groesbeck, passed away on June 5, 2025 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Cliffton Jones of Prairie Grove Baptist Church officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service, starting at 12:00 p.m.
Mr. Jones was born on October 27, 1958 in Mexia, Texas to Carl Andrew & Nanci Beth Wooten Jones. After he completed his education, Cliff was a police officer, was well as a truck driver. He also worked for Ellison Steel. In between his time at the Mexia State School and being a truck driver, he was paramedic, which was his passion. He had resided in Groesbeck since 2018. Prior to that, he had spent a few years in Teague and Waco. Most of his life, however, was spent in Mexia.
Preceding Mr. Jones in death were his daughters, Lesa and Brooke, parents, Carl A and Nanci and brother, Carl W.
Cliff is survived by his daughters, Kristi Wiley & husband Brian of Groesbeck, April Morgan & husband, Josh of San Antonio and Brittany Messner & husband, Michael; grandchildren, Calob, Calvin, Jaxson and Eliza all of San Antonio, Kedrick Wiley of Mexia, LaKeisha Wiley of Groesbeck and Darion Jones of Groesbeck; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Jones of Mexia and Jennifer Court & Jay of Madisonville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
