Jesse Ray Owens

Jesse Ray Owens, 73, of Mexia, passed away on April 19, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with James Lawson, officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Family visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Thomas Leago, Mark Leger, Bradley Leger, Joseph Owens, Jeremy Owens and Jimmy Owens, Jr. Mr. Owens was born on January 15, 1945 in Limestone County, Texas to Opie & Ella Bell Owens. He was a man of many talents, including construction, carpentry and was also an auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by loving wife, Shirley Ann Owens and is survived by his partner, Yvonne Combs; Children, Vanissa Leago of Austin, Texas, Patsy Noey of Mexia, Joey Owens & wife, Tonda of Groesbeck, Jesse Owens, Jr. & wife Carol, of Mexia, Cynthia Galdamez & husband, Wilver of Mexia and Jimmy Owens & wife, Jennifer of Mexia; Grandchildren, Kristie Leago of Mexia, Thomas Leago & wife, Jennifer of Rockport, Texas, Marcus Leger, Jr. of Mexia, Nikki Leger of Malakoff, Texas, Bryan Leger & wife, Brandi of Summit, Mississippi, Bradley Leger & wife Ashley of Mexia, Crystal Owens of Fairfield, Joseph Owens & wife, Kiara of Mexia, Brittany Owens of Lake Livingston, Texas, Jimmy Ward of Teague, Jason Harris of Groesbeck, Ashelee' Graham & husband, Will of Teague, Jeremy-Dane Owens of Mexia, Gabriel Mayo of Mexia, Jimmy Owens, Jr. and wife, Nayeli of Mexia, Joshua Owens of Mexia and Jordan Owens of Mexia; 24 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
