John Henry Pfund Obituary

John Henry Pfund, 81 of Mexia, Texas, went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 11, 2024.  John was born to Harry & Stella Porter Pfund on February 11, 1943 in Wauseon, Ohio.  John lived most of his life in the little community called Tedrow in Ohio; it’s where everyone is family.

John graduated from Pettisville High school in 1961.  He met the love of his life, Judith Mae Lobdell in 1979.  He worked with Wauseon Silo, then worked many years for Ironwood Golf Course, where he was Assistant Superintendent with his longtime buddy Keith Kuntz.

John took so much pride in striping his yard.  Nascar was his passion, as well as watching westerns.  He also enjoyed golfing and fishing.  Being a jokester and pulling pranks on his family will always give his family great memories.  His grandkids were his pride & joy and were his world.  He never met a stranger and made friends with everyone.  This was true for his FCR 901 neighbors.  He would get on his golfcart to visit them, especially his good buddy, David Tucker.  His favorite song, “Mule Train”, could be heard with him hollering “clipity clap mule train, yeehaw”!

John was preceded in death by his patents, Harry and Stella Pfund; grandson, Kanyon Beldin; sister, Louise Crawford and brother, Milan Pfund.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judith Pfund; sister, Donna Huffman and Phil of Addison, Mi; daughters, Heather Beldin & Steve of Mexia, Danna Sickelbaugh & Dan of Paris, Tn., Angie Bell & Ron of Pamplin, Va., Lisa Copeland & Bo of Vero Beach, Fl.; son, Jon Pfund and Jennifer of Defiance, Oh.; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and extended family.

There will be no formal services for John.  The family will get together for a celebration dinner at a later time.

The family thanks Accent Care Hospice for all the love and care they provided, especially his two pineapples, Charlene & Julie.
