Judy Marie Dabney

Judy Marie Dabney, 70, of Mexia, passed away on January 24, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God in Thornton. Brother Paul Moore officiated. Interment followed at Kirk Cemetery. Family visitation was held Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services in Mexia. Serving as pallbearers were Ollie Hicks, Gage Hicks, Joey Gilchrest, Randall Dobson, Wayne Nichols and Jesse Owens, Jr.

Judy was born on June 13, 1947 in Mexia, Texas to John & Eula Smith Dabney. She retired from the health care industry, serving in direct care.

Ms. Dabney is survived by her brothers, Ray Dabney and wife, Vana, Melvin Dabney and Dwayne Dabney, all of Mexia; sister, Marie Carter of Gladewater, Texas; daughters, Donna Nichols and husband, Wayne of Mexia and Regina Gilchrest and husband, Joey of Groesbeck; grandsons, Ollie Hicks, Jr. and wife, Kathryn, Gage Hicks, Jacob Hicks and Tyler Gilchrest; granddaughters, Elizabeth Hicks, Britteny Nichols, Caty Nichols, Kaylee Dobson, Brianna Dobson, Riley Dobson and Sarah Gilchrest; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
