Kenneth Edwin Allen

Kenneth Edwin Allen, 83 of Wortham, passed away on March 26, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wortham with Reverend Jim Albin officiating.  Interment will follow at Wortham Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church. 

Mr. Allen was born on July 24, 1942 in Teague, Texas to Truman & Ruby Robinson Allen.  After school, he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.  After his service, he spent his life as a welder, pipe fitter and master mechanic for the power plants in our area.  He was known for his fiddle playing that he did along with his wife.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Truman Allen and his wife, Sharon; sister, Patsy Ruth Franklin & husband, Richard; nephew, Richard Franklin, Jr.; brother-in-law, Kenneth Harrington; father and mother-in-law, Glendon D. & Hazel M. Putman and brothers-in-law, Douglas Neil and Joe Dean Putman. 

Among survivors are his wife, Wanda Marie (Putman) Allen; son, Glendon Charles (Chase) Allen & wife, Crystal Dawn Allen of Wortham; granddaughters, Makayla Marie Allen, Addison Reilly Allen and Aleah Renee Allen all of Wortham; brothers, Clifton Gene Allen& wife, Kay of Wortham and Jimmy Wayne Allen & wife Ramanda of Kirvin; sister, Nelda Beth Harrington of Wortham; brothers-in-law, William Ray Putman & wife Nancy and Jerry Lynn Putman & wife, Rose; sisters-in-law, Sue Anderson & husband, Travis and Kristina Putman; nephews, Jerry Don & Melody Allen, Johnny Ray & Pam Allen, Douglas Gene & Betty Allen, Wayne Allen, Randy Harrington, Daniel & Becky Harrington and Jeffrey & Jacinda Allen; nieces, Donna & Vic Gout, Melinda & Milton Nichener, Rita Allen, Karen Mendee, Sandra & Justin Dyess, Ruth & Brian Smith, Jennifer & Larry Bennett, Gwen Harrington & Susan & Justin Broussard; Nephews-in-law, Russell & April Putman, Christopher Anderson, Peter Brian & Rachel Putman, Kevin & Amanda Putman and Morgan & Macie Putman; niece-in-law, Devin Marie & Dillan Thibodeaux; as well as many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Don Allen, Johnny Allen, Randy Harrington, Russell Putman, Kevin Putman and Peter Putman.  Honorary pallbearers are Chris Anderson, Doug Allen, Morgan Putman, Daniel Harrington, Jeff Allen and Wayne Allen.
