Kenneth Seth Wilson, 94 of Mexia, passed away on January 10, 2024 at The Manor Nursing Home in Mexia. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday morning, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Services. Afterwards, the family will go in procession to a graveside at 11:00 a.m. at Mexia Cemetery, with Reverend Marcus Sheffield, officiating.
Mr. Wilson was born on December 7, 1929 in Mexia, Texas to Seth & Nina Wilson. He graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He met Wilma Jean Hood on May 24, 1947 and they were married on October 1, 1949. He worked for many years as a Park Attendant at Texas Parks and Wildlife at Ft. Parker. Afterwards, he worked for the Mexia State Supported Living Center. He loved animals, taking in all kinds, from foxes, to alligators, and everything in between. He was a self-taught artist, doing all kinds of drawings and painting old fashioned saws. He also hand carved walking sticks, that he gave away to many in the community.
Seth was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Wilma Jean Wilson; son, Mike Wilson and his parents. Survivors include children Dianne Wilson, Larry Wilson and Joe Wilson; eleven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions in Seth’s name be made to LARA’s House, Community Hospice or the charity of your choice.
