Madie Sue Watson, 83 of Mexia, passed away on September 24, 2020 at her residence in Mexia. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Wortham Cemetery with Robert Ross officiating. Family visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services.
Mrs. Watson was born on October 27, 1936 in Teague to Huey Christopher & Audrey Jones Gore. She was a retired supervisor at the Mexia State School.
Madie was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Watson; sons, Ronald Watson & Darrell Watson; parents, Huey & Audrey Gore and siblings, Linda McCoslin, Alfred Gore, Avis Willis, Terry Gore and Christopher Gore. She is survived by her sons, Roy Watson & wife, Michelle of Colorado and Donald Watson of Lake Mexia; siblings, Juanita Dvorak & husband Al of Garland, Louise Zemple of Kansas, J.W. Gore of Mexia, Gene Gore & wife, Linda of Houston; sisters-in-law, Margie Watson of Groesbeck, Laura Gore of Mexia and Ellen Watson of Waco; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Watson of Mexia, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.
Serving as pallbearers are Bryan Watson, Michael Watson, Robert Day, Kevin Dorn, Bastion Pickens and Chance Watson.
