Maria Cervantes Obituary

Maria Cervantes, 95, of Mexia, passed away on June 11, 2019 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Justin Nguyen, celebrant. Interment will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Thursday evening at Jones Funeral Services from 5-9 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Ms. Cervantes was born on February 29, 1924 in Mexico to Leoterio Loredo & Bartola Balderas. She was a homemaker in her own home, raising her 16 children.

Ms. Cervantes was preceded in death by her children, Jose Cervantes, Cayetano, Remijio, Cecilia, Marcelina and Maria Santos. Survivors include her children, Susana Cervantes, Jose Dolores Cervantes, Maria Dolores Cervantes, Margarita Cervantes, Emilia Cervantes, Casimira Cervantes, Hermilo Cervantes, Roman Cervantes, Andres Cervantes and Francisco Cervantes; as well as numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
