Marilyn McIntire Obituary

Marilyn Clo Gray McIntire, 85, passed from this life on January 31, 2023 in Mexia, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Jones Funeral Services of Mexia on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM

Marilyn was born on June 13, 1937 to Mildred Fay and R.B. Gray. She grew up in Levelland, Texas where she graduated from Levelland High School. Marilyn started working at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas as an administrative assistant where she met the love of her life, Daniel Albert McIntire. She often told their daughter that God always intended them to meet or Dan never would have found his way to Texas from New Hampshire. They were married on January 17, 1959 and celebrated 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. Dan and Marilyn enjoyed working at their church in many capacities and traveling in their motorhome. Marilyn studied business at South Plains College and also worked there before leaving to work as an accounting and office manager for Proctor and Gamble and then as an office manager for ADM all in Levelland.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Carolyn and son-in-law Terry Arnold of Mexia; grandsons T.J. (Brittiany) Arnold of Plano and Shane Arnold of Mexia; great-grandsons Braden Arnold (Lauren) of Fort Worth and Gavin Tomchuk of Denton; granddaughter Chrissie Clayton of Denton; great granddaughter Salem Arnold of Plano; sisters Patricia Wilson of Seminole, Texas and Debbie LeVick of Mineola, Texas; brother Gary Gray of Ropesville, Texas and a whole slew of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind special care givers, Rose Cornish, Dura Nevels and LaDonna Greeley.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Dan, her parents, brothers Royce and Bud Gray; sisters Ruth Holland and Carolyn Gray.
