Mildred Beard

Mildred Louise Beard, 72 of Groesbeck, passed away on December 20, 2021 at Groesbeck LTC.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mexia Family Church, with Pastor Thomas Rasey officiating.  Interment will follow at Lost Prairie Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beard was born on August 14, 1949 in Personville, Texas to John and Annie Kate Thompson Pevehouse.  She had worked at the Mexia State School & Walmart before retiring.  She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, dogs and swinging on her front porch with drinking coffee and tea, as well as going for walks.  She loved her family, kids and grandkids, and being with them.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, John & Annie Kate Pevehouse; sister, Mary Ann Sellers; brothers, Marion “Jimmy” Pevehouse and Jerry Pevehouse; husband, W.L. “Larue” Beard, and father of her children, Aubrey Brasher. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Waddle and husband, Allen of Groesbeck; son, Dennis Brasher, grandchildren, Krystal Winn and husband, Brendt of Haslet, Texas, Ashely Cole of New York, New York and Leo Boulware of Mexia; great grandchildren, Cullen and Sidney; sister, Katie Beard of Groesbeck and brothers, John Pevehouse and wife, Dorothy of Mexia and L.B. Pevehouse and wife, Martha of Troy, Alabama.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Cole, Leo Boulware, Mike Harris and Brent Winn.
