Nora Geneva Pickens

Nora Pickens, 73 of Mexia, passed away on January 25, 2021 at her residence.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Pastor Jerry Fulton officiating. Face mask are encouraged, but not required.    

Ms. Pickens was born on December 21, 1947 in Groesbeck, Texas to James Roger & Dorothy McClaren Beene.  She graduated from Groesbeck High School and spent her career as a book keeper.  She loved being outdoors, camping and fishing.  She was very active, and loved vacationing and traveling the world.  Nora was a kind woman and time with her family was very important. 

Nora was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Allen; son, Matt Allen and parents, Roger & Dorothy Beene.  Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer McClatchy of Wortham; granddaughter, Stephanie Minze & husband, Benjamin of Ft. Worth; special  children, Crissy Smallridge & husband, Michael of Gatesville, Jacob Pickens & wife, Sherry of Chelsea, Alabama, Cassie Fulton & husband, Jerry of Waxahachie, Ronald McClatchy, Sean, Christopher and Michael Smith; sister, Kim Beck & husband, James of Mexia; nephew, Brent Beck of Mexia; brother, Paul Beene & wife, Phyliss of Waco; niece, Jamie Colvert & husband, Jeremy of Marquez and special niece & nephew, Conner & Camryn Colvert. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Ms. Pickens memory be made to the State of Texas Kidney Foundation, 4204 Gardendale, #106, San Antonio, Texas 78229.
