Paula Jayne Holder

Paula Jayne Holder, 74 of Mexia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2022, at her residence in Mexia.  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague, Texas with Reverend James Dorman and Reverend Roy Prather, officiating.  Visitation with the family, will be held prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at the church.

Paula was born on March 6, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas to Preston Dearmon & Freda Murel Fox Daniel.  After completing high school, she earned a business college degree.  She retired as a customer service representative with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 27 years.  She had been in the Mexia community since 2019.  Paula was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague, Texas.  She was involved in many organizations thru work and civic ones, over the years. 

Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Holder, Jr and parents, Preston & Freda Daniel.  Survivors include her son, Jeff Holder & wife, Tammy of Weatherford, Texas; grandson, Robert Holder of Arp, Texas; granddaughter-in-law, Morgan Orr of Arp, Texas; grandson, Richard Holder of Weatherford, Texas; great-grandson, Michael Holder of Arp, Texas; sister, LuAnn Locke & husband, Brent of Mexia, Texas; sister, Shannon Dorman & husband, James of Jacksonville, Texas; nieces, Laura Sides of Mexia, Texas, Amanda Smith & husband, Robert of Mexia, Texas and Emma Dorman of Jacksonville, Texas; nephews, Preston Locke & wife, Amber of San Angelo, Texas and Joshua Dorman of Jacksonville, Texas; great-nieces and nephews, Lena Sides of Mexia, Texas, Grace Smith of Mexia, Texas, Jasper Smith of Mexia, Texas, Faith Locke  of San Angelo, Texas, Sarah Locke of San Angelo, Texas, Michael Locke of San Angelo, Texas and Griffith Locke of San Angelo, Texas; granddaughter, Melody Shelly of Fort Worth, Texas and grandson, Braison Shelly of Arlington, Texas.

The family request that memorial contributions in Paula’s name be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
