Paula Gauntt Hyden, 64, formerly of Teague & Mexia, passed away on January 19, 2020 at her residence in Bryan, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Teague, with Paul Gauntt officiating.
Ms. Gauntt was born on June 29, 1955 in Teague to William Paul & Lois Alma Harper Gauntt. She grew up in Teague, graduating from Teague High School (Class of 1973). She worked at the Mexia Daily News for 15 years as an ad manager and attended nursing school at Navarro College. She had lived in Bryan for the past 14 years. She loved with all of her heart animals, especially her dogs & cats, loved music and stylish clothes. Paula loved getting people together and having a good time. She was a very big Texas Longhorn fan.
Paula was preceded in death by her son, Scott Bradley Hyden; parents, William & Lois Gauntt and partner, Ray Boucher. She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Hyden Wells of Mexia; son, Steven Paul Hyden & wife, Megan Tinch of Austin; grandchildren, Scott Bradley Hyden & Alexander Kirby Hyden of Austin and Bree Michelle Wells & Blake Michael Wells of Mexia; brother, Bill Gauntt & wife, Patti of Teague; as well as other extended family.
