Pedro was born on June 29, 1948 in Corallitos, Zacatecas Mexico to Gregorio & Teresa Acevedo. Pedro and his wife Maria Eva moved to Coolidge in 1977 and raised their four children. Pedro was a ranch hand and worked at Frazier’s for many years, until he wasn’t able to do so.
You would always catch him sitting on the front porch in his favorite chair, with his scratch-offs, Marlboro reds, reading his western novels or doing a word search. He was an avid Yankees fan and loved watching baseball. Pedro was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. But above all else, he loved and helped raise his grandchildren. He loved his family and always put a smile on everyone’s face with his corny dad jokes.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregorio Acevedo; mother, Teresa Ibarra Acevedo; sister, Manuela Acevedo; brothers Francisco Acevedo, Manuel Acevedo; brother-in-law, Carlos Samaniego and sister-in-law, Maria Elena Acevedo.
Surviving him are his wife, Maria Eva Acevedo Luna; children, Juan, Jose, Teresa and Lidia; grandchildren, Jonathon, Luis, Matteo, Joshuah, Adriana, Fernando, JP, Emma, Jennifer, Nico, Fabiola, Anayeli, Esmeralda, Lysette, Ximena, Julian and Benjie; great-grandchildren, Kaysen, Karsen, Kaizer, Sawyer, Luis, Kaylani, Ayden, Olivia, Angel and Kylie; sister, Ofelia Samaniego; brother, Rafael Acevedo & wife and sister-in-law, Toni Acevedo.
Serving as pallbearers are Jonathan, Matteo, Joshuah, Fernando, Nico and JP. Honorary pallbearers are Julian and Benjie.
Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do no let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27.
