Peggy Glover Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Glover who gained her heavenly angel wings at 3:58 am on June 29, 2025 at the age of 79. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones in her Mexia, Texas home. In true Peggy fashion, she waited for everyone to come see her and love on her before leaving this earth peacefully in her sleep. Peggy was provided comfort at the end of her life by nursing staff from Providence Hospice.

Peggy was born on October 28, 1945 to Theresa Dale Guest and AO Jordan in Groesbeck, Tx. Peggy spent her whole life in Mexia, Texas. For 27 years, Peggy worked at the Mexia State School before she retired to be a “stay at home grandma” in 2000. Peggy was known for her sweet smile, contagious laughter and the best hugs known to man.

She never went a day without calling her close family at least 3 times a day on the phone just to ask “what are ya doin’?” or “just callin’ to say hi”. Peggy never went anywhere without seeing someone she knew and having a little visit with them. I know everyone in her family would agree that Peggy was the BEST mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and aunt. She will be truly missed by each and every person who has ever met her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, AO Jordan and Theresa Dale Guest, her son Daniel Glover Jr. (Bubba), and her loving husband of 52 years, Daniel Glover Sr. (Danny).

Peggy leaves behind and is survived by her daughters, Sharon Smith, Carolyn Wilson and husband Tony of Mexia, grandchildren William Briscoe and wife Kim of Baytown, Tx, Christopher Briscoe and wife Crystal of Abbott, Tx, Taylor Lacy and Husband Chris of Mexia, Rebecka Smith of Cypress, Tx, Angie Smith and husband Dalton of Fairfield, Tx, Blossom Glover of Mexia, her siblings, Mary Ann Hadley, SB Jordan and wife Pam, Roger McNeel and wife Denise of Teague, Tx, and 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on July 5, 2025 from 10:00 am at Jones Funeral Services in Mexia, Tx before heading to the Mexia Cemetery for a graveside service honoring Peggy at 11:30 am., Reverend Marcus Sheffield, officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Russ Smith, Roger McNeel Jr., Ricky Hadley, Larry Don Baker, Kenny Kitchens, and Michael Keevert.
