Preston Cobb Obituary

Preston Aaron Cobb, 35 of Coolidge, passed away on March 30, 2024, in a motorcycle accident.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Coolidge, with Reverend Larry Holden, officiating.  Interment will follow at Coolidge Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday evening, from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services.

Preston, also known as “P”, was born on December 11, 1988 in Tyler, Texas. He was working as a ranch hand at the time of his passing.  P was not a stranger to anyone and never met a stranger.  When he was around, he was the light of the room.  Everyone wanted to be with P. He had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone, anytime with anything, often times sacrificing things for himself to make sure someone else was taken care of. His children and their mother, Margaret, were the light of his life. He also loved his mother and all of his family very dearly.

Preston loved softball, where he was known on the field as “Britches.”  He really was a very good player.  He also enjoyed fishing.

Preston was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Gilmore.  Survivors include his mother, Jackie Cobb; son, Preston Cobb II, daughter, Miranda Cobb; brothers, Blake Simmons and wife, Alysia and Andy Campbell and wife, Brittany; the mother of his children, Margaret Sturdivant; uncles, Jon Gilmore and wife, Amy and Billy Campbell; aunt, Charlotte Crockett; cousins, Cassey Michael, Timothy, Brandon, Shawn, Shayla, Cody and Matthew; as well as numerous nieces and nephews to their “Uncle P”; and many friends

Serving as pallbearers are Jace Lloyd, Trent Lloyd, Joe Daniels, Franklin Williams, John Ivester and Seth Sykora, Honorary pallbearers are Mark Hancock, Patrick Fraizer, Drew Jacobs, Derek Vaughn, Johnny Masters, Matt Bostian and Devin Freeman and the Coolidge Volunteer Fire Department.
