Ralph McBride

Ralph L. McBride Sr., 93 of Thornton, passed away on July 17, 2021 at Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God in Thornton with Brother Paul Moore, officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment with military honors will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston. 

Mr. McBride was born on December 13, 1927 in Pittsburg, Texas to Dewey & Josie Harris McBride.  October of this year will mark 70 years of marriage to his loving wife, Gay Ann.  He spent 20 years in the United States Army and Special Forces, including service in WWII, Vietnam and Korea.  He was a welder by trade and had retired as a superintendent in construction.  Ralph raised several generations, including spouse’s siblings and countless McBride’s. 

He was preceded in death by his sons, Ralph McBride Jr. and Danny McBride; parents, Dewey & Josie McBride; brothers, Dempsey & Jack, as well as sister, Janell.  Survivors include his wife, Gay Ann McBride; son, George McBride; 13 grandchildren, James McBride, John McBride, Jennifer McBride, Danny McBride, Daniel McBride, Christopher Sean McBride, Shanna Haigh, Shawn McBride, Amanda McBride, Belinda McBride, Suzanne McBride, Sandra McBride and Rebecca McBride; 7 great-grandchildren, Brian McBride, Starr McBride, Nathaniel Toldan, Cameron Toldan, Matthew Toldan, Connor McBride-Watkins and Kiley McBride; daughters-in-law, Jonise McBride, Jacque McBride and Toni Riggins, as well as his beloved dog, Cutie Pie.

Serving as pallbearers are James McBride, Shawn McBride, Nathaniel Toldan, Cameron Toldan, Matthew Toldan, Joseph Gresham.
