Robert Groh Obituary

Robert “Bob” Alan Groh was born in Mason City, Iowa, on May 30, 1958, to the parents of August and Arlene (Andersen) Groh. Bob served in the United States Navy where he traveled the Pacific seas to Japan and the Philippines. During his service, he developed a passion for electronics and technology, which he later utilized in his 24-year tenure with AT&T as a communication technician.

In 1994, Bob was united in marriage to his soulmate, Linda Bolton-Groh, on the beautiful Lake Lewisville in Lewisville, Texas. They raised their two boys, Mathew and Eric, in Lorena, Texas, where they enjoyed time on the baseball and football fields, camping at the deer lease, and spending summers on the beach at Port Aransas. His love for his family was deep and unwavering, and he was the epitome of a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Bob had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed having a good time. He loved to take rides on his Harley Davidson, play his guitar, and spend time with his precious granddaughter. He shared his love and passion for music with his sons, who frequently enjoyed playing their guitars together. They also spent many nights playing games of Cribbage. Bob loved spending his time with his wife and family, and took many vacations filled with joyous memories and adventures throughout the years.

Those cherishing his memory include his wife of 30 years, Linda Groh; sons Mathew (Sara & granddaughter) Groh of Forney, Eric Groh of Lorena, and Daniel Groh of San Antonio; sisters Michele (Michael) Keenom of Lewisville, Terry (Michael) Roggeman of Mason City, Iowa, and brother Michael (Nancy) Groh of Mason City, Iowa, mother-in-law Marilyn Bolton of Mexia, sister-in-law Twink Bolton of Mexia, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bob was welcomed home with the Lord on September 30, 2024, by his parents, Augie and Arlene Groh, and brother-in-law, Bobby Bolton. In lieu of flowers, Bob’s family kindly asks that donations be made to the St. Jude’s Cancer Foundation.
