Sheri Michelle Owen

Sheri Michell Owen, 32 of Thornton, passed away on March 25, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Waco.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Thornton with Reverend Tracy Sims, officiating.  Interment will follow at Thornton Cemetery.  Family visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services.

Sheri was bon on November 5, 1988 in Mexia, Texas to Gary & Pat Owen.  She was raised in Thornton.  As a child, she enjoyed following her sister everywhere, which continued as an adult.  She enjoyed showing livestock for many years and enjoyed getting into mischief with her brother.  Sheri also loved trail riding.  She was a CNA for many years before she got sick. She loved taking care of the elderly, but above all else, she loved her babies.  All of her nieces and nephews knew her as Sissy.  She was their keeper of secrets, their friend, and their bodyguard if they needed it.  Sheri fought heart problems from age 12, and put up one heck of a fight.  The last thing Sheri told her family was to tell her babies that she loved them.  We are at peace knowing that Sheri knew the Lord and our dad was waiting on her at the gates with open arms.

Sheri was preceded in death by her dad, Gary Owen; grandparents, Bobby & Barbara Owen; uncle Terry Owen; grandparents, John & Dorothy Jones and aunts, Becky Howard and Sharon Walpole.  She is survived by her mother Pat Owen; sister, Barbara Carter & husband, Michael; brother, Jeremy Owen & wife, Autumn; children, Addyson, Anthony, Alizabeth Rancher and Gatlin Owen and nieces & nephews, Peyton, Joseph, Paige, Rustyn, Emersyn and Kingston.

Serving as pallbearers are Christian Smith, Justin Adams, Jeremy Brooks, John Henry Jones, Dominion Dick, Dalton Dick and John Phillip Dick.
