Vickie Lee Ward, 64, formerly of Mexia, passed away on March 30, 2025, at her home in Colorado City, Texas.  She was born on June 16, 1960, in Mexia, Texas to Lee Benjamin and Lois Bell Clendenen Smith. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God in Mexia.

After school, Vickie worked as a CNA for 20 plus years in the Mexia and Groesbeck area. Vickie worked as housekeeper with the Mexia State Supported Living Center for 14 years.  After she retired from the Mexia State Supported living center, she moved to Colorado City Tx to be near her daughter, Jamie and grandkids (Anthony, Aiden Aisley and Seth) Shortly after followed her sons James (Bubba) and Justin.  Vickie was living her best life with her family and her two cats Kami and Cherry.

Vickie loved all holidays.  She went all out for all of them.  She loved to spoil her grandchildren and all of the children of the family with candy.  She loved the Dallas Cowboys.  Vickie loved Jesus and had accepted him in her life at an early age.

Vickie was the most beautiful, kind and thoughtful person. She always made sure everyone was included and welcome. She put others before herself. She was a hard worker. She sometimes worked 2 jobs to provide for her family. She loved her coffee and The Dallas Cowboys. Although she will be greatly missed, we know that she is with Jesus.
