Wade Davis, 93 of Mexia, passed away on October 22, 2021 at the Mexia LTC. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with an hour of visitation before, at Mexia Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born on March 20, 1928 in Mexia, Texas to White L. & Emma Kate Tucker Davis. He graduated the top of his class from the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco. Afterwards, he served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was also trained in the field on dental hygiene. After his service was complete, Wade served as a dental technician for many dentists in Mexia, retiring after 43 years. He met the love of his life, Elsie, on a blind date and they were married on November 27, 1956 at the Eight Avenue Baptist Church of Teague. Elise was the love of his life, and he did very well at providing for her and taking care of her. He also always had his faithful companion, his dog BJ, with him everywhere he went.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents, White & Emma Davis; sisters, Elizabeth McLendon, Aline Davis and Mary Mitchell; brothers, Jack, Joe, Lawrence and Robert L. Davis and niece, Sarah Markey. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elsie Davis of Mexia; sister-in-law, Terra Davis of Fred, Texas; nieces, Carolyn Hathaway of Fred, Texas, Patricia Faltesek of Dickinson, Texas and Aline Graham of Lumberton, Texas; nephews, Bobby Joe Davis of Warren, Texas and Wade Alan Davis of Silsbee, Texas; sister, Thelma Pope of Teague, Texas; special friends, Nancy & Bill Davis of Nacogdoches; as well as other family and friends.
