Wanda Ray (Archer) McKinney, 74, of Wortham, TX. passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2022 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wortham with Reverend Justin Colquette, officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Limestone County. Family visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services in Mexia. Serving as pallbearers are Justin Hancock, Ethan Lemke, Chase Rogers, Devin Pullin, Kit Waldrop and Rypin Rogers.
Beloved wife, sister, mother, granny, great granny, aunt and friend. Wanda was born on January 21, 1948 to parents, John Ray and Margaret (McPherson) Archer from Coolidge, TX. She attended Coolidge High School. She spent her early years at home raising her children. She would go on to explore other opportunities, until meeting and marrying her soulmate, Carl McKinney on August 24, 1995.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 27 years; Daughter, Marie Lemke Hancock and husband Jimmy of China Spring, Tx., Son, Greg R. Lemke and wife Shannon of Waco, TX., Daughter, Wendi Waldrop, Daughter, Melissa White and husband Steve of Kirvin, TX., Daughter Donna McKinney and fiancé David Day of Cottage Grove, OR., Daughter, LaVanna McKinney of Corpus Christi, TX. Grandchildren, Laurynn Wedin and fiancé Devin Pullin, Justin Hancock, Ethan Lemke, Chase Rogers and fiancé Brittney Wood, Rypin Rogers and wife Amber, Shelby Trisler, Cheynne Trisler and boyfriend Justin Frazier. Three great grandchildren, Brantley Pullin, B.B. Wood and Ryder Rogers. Brother, Jerry (Bubba) Archer and his wife Darlene of Forest Glade, TX., Sisters Mary (Sissy) Mann and husband Robert (Bob) of Robinson, TX. And Martha Dowdle and husband Millard of Kerns, TX. Her very best friend and partner in crime, Alice Price along with many loved nieces and nephews.
